Mountain Reflections was inspired by a couple of photos shot in late fall, of the Iconic Pikes Peak. Taken from Reserve our Gallery located in Woodland Park. While the mountain itself remains true to the original scene the rest of the composition was thoughtfully designed to showcase the grandeur of the 14,115' giant. The winding water, different tree lined land masses, and vibrant autumn foliage leading the viewer's eye naturally toward the majestic peak. The mirror-like reflection and warm golden light create a sense of balance and tranquility, capturing not only the beauty of Pikes Peak but the peaceful spirit of a Colorado autumn.
Using layered brushwork and atmospheric perspective, this painting creates a natural sense of depth from the golden foreground to the distant snow-cover peaks. Warm autumn tones are balanced against cool mountain blues, while the still water reflects the landscape with soft controlled detail, capturing the quiet beauty and peaceful light of a Colorado fall day.
