Inspired by nearly a decade photographing and filming moose in the wetlands of northern Maine and New Hampshire, A Quiet Place captures the quiet strength of one of North America's most Iconic animals. Drawing from countless hours spent along the logging roads near Millinocket, Maine, and the famous Moose Alley region of Pittsburg, New Hampshire, I created an original composition that reflects the peaceful marshes, towering pines and golden lit secret spots that define these wilderness landscapes.

Every element of this painting was carefully arranged to draw the viewer toward the bull moose's massive rack and expressive face. I had done another moose in the past {The Bull} still based on my Maine and New Hampshire experience. So this time I decided to have the moose in a secluded little pocket with a small creek winding through it. But I wanted to have the strongest lighting on the small field to the left in the painting lead into his rack and face. then I also had the creek zig zag back and forth leading into the moose's front legs and again right into his muzzle to make sure there was no mistake of where the viewer was going to end up. There are other lead ins but I will let you find them yourself. This could be a small future challenge for my viewers and collectors.

I wanted to keep this one a little more simple as sometimes a lot of details are needed for me anyway, to capture the mood and full impact of what I am trying to communicate. So I wanted most of the warm colors coming in from the left, becoming less intense as you got to the moose with some spots on the pine leading to his rear and the foreground log. The rear woods line is cooler in color and i put one sky hole to lead down and mimic the Antler. But most of the detail is around the moose's head and shoulders.
